My daughter Juniper stumbled upon Mothman on the net and found the legend hilarious. She created this T-Shirt as a tribute to the myth.

A little from the Wikipedia entry on Mothman:

Mothman is the name given to a being or creature reported in the Charleston and Point Pleasant areas of West VirginiaNovember 12, 1966, near Clendenin, and December 1967. Most observers describe the Mothman as a winged man-sized creature with large reflective red eyes and large moth-like wings.

“For thirteen month the entire town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia was gripped by a dark terror that culminated in a tragedy that made headlines all over the world. This is a story that contains all the elements of a modern science fiction movie but every single word is true and fully documented by famed journalist John A. Keel.”

“Homes throughout the little towns were plagued with unearthly noises and ghostly manifestations while mysterious aerial lights traveled silently overhead seemingly on a regular schedule. Winged monsters and frightening apparitions terrified the population as automobiles stalled and telephones and TV sets ran amok. A Red Cross Bloodmobile filled with fresh blood was pursued along a darkened highway by a weird flying machine. Domestic animals were found slaughtered and mutilated in pastoral farm fields. Innocent people lived in surrealistic horror, haunted by the fearsome demonic “Bird” and besieged by legions of strange beings (some of which arrived in ordinary-looking automobiles).”

Dad … Moth man sounds like a comic writer, I didn’t find it on the net, I read it in a book, there are really weird legends like skunk ape, the Utah lake monsters, devils triangle, dragons triangle, aliens … Plus, I think Moth man is hilarious but really, I think it’s just a myth. Who would believe in Moth man?!?! If they gave it a better name like “Giant west Virginia Moth monster” then maybe. Also … The only mystery things I believe in are the Nessie Scottish, aliens, ghosts. Well, that’s about it. Oh yes and spirits.

“Thank you Juniper for coming up with the idea” “Your welcome Dad anytime” When I’m brushing my teeth I’m just scared cause I think Moth man is funny, so I think red eyes are going to pear at me through the window! I like scaring my sister with Moth man. I drew this very same picture to make my sister fell scared, and when she was carrying it down the corridor she was like “OUCH OUCH OUCH” thinking it’s the real Moth man. Then my DAD stepped in and yeah, that’s how this became a shirt. I’m going to turn 10 soon! Dad can you please put this on my site http://www.juniperstreehouse.com/ Yeah, I realy think it’s cool, and I want more people on my site!

    THANX
