The Abstracted Doodle

doodle_scribble

Today’s Doodle Week theme is an Abstract Doodle. I think the majority of my doodles created while in meetings at work are abstract. This doodle was created on the header of a blank page of my note book. I think the meeting was about my budget. I reckon any long winded discussion about budget drives one to abstraction.

I’ve scanned the image and then laid in some color for nice effect. If you’re interested in all the details behind using opensource software to design and edit images, check out this post a couple of days ago.

I hope you’re enjoying Doodle Week. You can see many of the participants under Doodle Week Bloggers at Stickfiguregirl. if you get the hanking to participate, be sure to upload your doodle and check out the others on the flickr doodle group.

The colours and design are very Aztecky … Aztecesque … Azteckian … much the sort of thing an Aztec might come up with.

You got me there … this is actually a doodle representation of Metztli (also Metztli, Tecuciztecatl, Tecciztecatl)- The Aztec lowly god of worms who failed to sacrifice himself to become the sun, and became the moon instead, his face darkened by a rabbit.

I love reading about the inspiration for your doodles :)
I just put a piece of a paper in front of me and go mad.

It was hard to resist not using a pencil and getting all artsy but I stuck to doodling something with a pen, colouring it in and uploading it.

WOW. That is gorgeous. Doesn’t look as much like a doodle as something to be framed and hund on the wall! very cool.

I’ve scrolled through and looked at your Doodles. You are talented!
