The Trouble With IE
If you are using IE I apologise. This site is currently not rendering correctly in IE. If you use most any other browser, cool, you see the site as I had intended. You see, the trouble with IE is that is not web compliant and code that should work well sometimes just does not work in that browser. If your an ubercoder and feel the urge, please have a look at the css here and let me know where the IE bug lies. I can’t for the life of me find it.
If your using IE, I encourage you to switch to a browser that’s web compliant asap.
[update]
Arem from the DevShed has pointed out the offending IE code. The site *should* render correctly now.

Hello, I’m the little red planet work horse. You rarely, no let me take that back, you NEVER get to see me cause I am the one that does all the grunt work behind the curtains here. To toot my own horn, I’m a Canon EOS 400D with 55mm and 300mm lenses. I’m pretty average on the digital SLR scale but what I lack in power and features, I more than make up for in ease of use and I’m light weight. That means my user doesn’t get tired lugging me around all day.
I like to shoot in AV mode most of the time. I always tweek my white balance and ISO before closing the shutter. I think my best attribute is my rich understanding of color. Yeah, that’s where I leave all them big bad boys in the dirt. I like color and I make sure it shows in my photos. If I could make any improvements I’d make my digital screen a bit bigger and maybe even add live shot to it. I know the newer models have made these adjustments.
My user drools at my more expensive brothers at the camera store but I’m not worried. I know that there’ll always be a place for me in the camera bag regardless. Hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor.
cheers
PS – You know, it’s not all about features, frames per second and all that jazz … it’s really about art.

Bunjil Aboriginal Dance Group
On the weekend I had the pleasure of taking some promo shots of the Bunjil Aboriginal Dance Group. Grandad, the patriarch of the group mentioned to me in passing several months ago that he had very few good photos of the dancers even though the group is over 17 years old. I volunteered to attend the next function and take some photos.
Bunjil opened the Doveton Show on Sunday with a Welcome to Country ceremony consisting of several traditional and a contemporary dance. The dance troupe are composed of children as young as 2 through young adults and features several women. Most of the time Aboriginal dance troupes are all male affairs so it is enlightening to see the female dances in traditional costumes.
I took 335 photos that I need to have developed for Grandad and the gang. Have a look at my flickr set to see a few choice ones I have picked out.

We had a beautiful spring weekend. The girls spent a lot of time outside playing in the warm sunshine. Teddy went outside with them and took a tumble on the trampoline!
