Red Handed

Willow came downstairs to ‘help’ me do some home improvement work. She had a red marker with her. She handed it to me “in case I needed” it. I noticed her hands were covered in red marker and I asked if she had drawn all over herself. Of course she denied any such activity. I [...]

Kindy Graduation

Willow had her Kindy graduation last week. She’s been in childcare with about 6 of these kiddos since they were infants. They had a very cute little graduation ceremony complete with caps, gowns and diplomas. Next year, she’ll be in primary school.

Olympic Ice Rink Figure Skating Competition

My little girl had her first figure skating competition yesterday. She did great and got a second place medal. Here she’s being congratulated by one of the older skaters. I took a few photos. Most of the competitors were friends of my oldest daughter and we’ve seen them all skate from about the age of [...]

Wild Flower

My little Willow after she asked me to pick one of the giant roses in the backyard. Afterwards she stuffed the rose into the ground and pured water on top. I hope she’s not disappointed today when the rose is no longer a rose.

Woohoo! The Camera Is Back

For the past 3 or 4 weeks I have been without my canon camera cause I mysteriously lost my charger. Earlier in the week a new one came in the mail so this weekend I was good to go. I spent a couple of hours out in the backyard with Willow playing on the trampoline [...]

Little Bits of Sunshine

Today my daughter Willow was jumping on the trampoline. She quietly slipped her water bottle in and began jumping throwing water everywhere. I snapped a few picts before taking her in from the cold and changing her water clothes!

Those Nebulous Days of Summer

My two daughters lounge on the grass contemplating the magic of space.

From APOD: Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble — maybe Macbeth should have consulted the Witch Head Nebula. This suggestively shaped reflection nebula is associated with the bright star Rigel in the constellation Orion. More formally known as IC 2118, [...]

The Artist and Her Subject

The Artist

and her Subject

Sunday afternoon, I caught myself falling asleep on the couch. This was very unusual in our house because one of the kiddos is typically demanding my attention at all times. I woke with a start and felt something dreadfully wrong. There were no children running around the couch, no screaming coming from [...]

Cosmic Genesis

For this weeks Creative Photo, I peered into cosmic genesis and found the likeness of my little cherub gently encouraging infant stars into the Small Magellanic Cloud crèche.

If your curious about this small satellite galaxy NGC 602 (pictured) near the Small Magellanic Cloud it’s 200 thousand light-years distant. Surrounded by natal gas and dust, NGC [...]
